Welcome to ChicagoCutz. It's not just a haircut, it's an experience
Ron Bell, founder and CEO of Chicago Cutz, knows his business is more than a barbershop - it is also a community forum and an opportunity to enact social change.
In summer 2016 Bell Collaborated with Alderman Ashanti Hamilton and Cavalier Johnson(of Milwaukee's 1st and 2nd Districts, respectively) to introduce "Books in the Barbershop." The literacy initiative seeks to close the achievement gap in Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) by providing access to books provided by the Milwaukee Public Library.
During the initiative's launch, Bell also offered school supplies and complimentary haircuts to every student who came to Chicago Cutz. "Books in the Barbershop" has been featured on Wisconsin Public Radio, the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, and WTMJ-TV. Visit www.stritch.edu/magazine to connect to more news coverage.
